American Community’s goal is to provide affordable health insurance by controlling costs while offering flexible coverage and a range of benefit options. We offer health insurance plans for individuals, families, and small or large employee groups. Our products include:

• • Consumer-choice health insurance products with alternatives for savings and tools for self-directed care
• • Short Term interim health insurance coverage for students, self-employed or those in between jobs
• • Group options of life, dental, vision, weekly income and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage
• • Individual options of dental, vision and maternity coverage

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) Plans

Our PPO products give you the freedom to choose any physician or hospital you want. If you seek medical services from a doctor or hospital inside the PPO Network, you pay less for your health care services. If you seek medical services outside of the network, your benefits will be less generous. As a consumer, you can control your share of health care costs, just by seeking medical services from a doctor who is participating with your network. These network doctors will file your claims for you and must accept the network allowed amount as payment for covered services. What makes any of our PPO plans so desirable is your ability to go to any network provider you choose, including a specialist, whenever you choose. You do not need a referral for hospital, outpatient or ancillary services. In addition to our comprehensive state networks for our PPO products, American Community has contracted with a nationwide travel network to provide access to providers when employees and covered dependents travel outside of their local area.
